From mid-August, Business Class passengers on long-haul Lufthansa flights from Germany can select from a broader range of main dishes up to 24 hours before their departure date. They can choose from six different regional and seasonal menus.
As of August 1st, Lufthansa will introduce an expanded selection of hot beverages in its Onboard Delights Service for European flights. To promote sustainability, the airline will replace the previous disposable cups with plastic lids with a new, eco-friendly reusable cup made of recyclable plastic. This new cup will be used for serving high-quality, instant coffee specialties like latte macchiato, along with three tea variants and hot chocolate available for purchase. As part of their commitment to environmental responsibility, the Lufthansa Group aims to eliminate single-use plastic and single-use aluminum on board all passenger airlines by 2025.

Meanwhile, for young travellers on Lufthansa long-haul flights, the airline is introducing an expanded entertainment offering. The "e-journals" media library will provide children and teens with an extended range of age-appropriate reading materials in the Children's Media Box. This includes a diverse selection of journals and magazines in various languages, which can be downloaded free of charge. Moreover, coloring pages will be available to keep the youngest passengers engaged while waiting at the gate and during the flight. The FlyNet portal on short- and medium-haul flights now offers free children's podcasts as well, enhancing the entertainment options for young travellers.
During the summer months, the in-flight entertainment program for children has also been expanded, with over 50 films and TV programs, as well as numerous audio programs accessible to them on long-haul flights. QR codes in Lufthansa gates and playground areas at Terminal 2 in Munich and Terminal 1 in Frankfurt allow children to access children's TV programs and audio books free of charge.
