German flag carrier Lufthansa has released images of the Business Class product on the first five recently acquired Boeing 787 Dreamliners – initially intended for China’s Hainan Airlines.
With brand-new onboard products to be unveiled on Lufthansa’s new A350 and B787 fleets in 2023, speculation surrounded the Business Class product of the original Hainan-bound Dreamliners.
With these images, Lufthansa has confirmed that the five B787s will retain 26 Business Class seats in the original 1-2-1 herringbone configuration with a Lufthansa-branded cabin makeover. Premium Economy will have 21 seats in a 2-3-2 configuration, and 247 Economy seats will have a 3-3-3 cabin layout.
The first Dreamliner is currently undergoing testing, with its first operational commercial service scheduled between Frankfurt and Munich on October 19th.
The first long-haul route is planned for December when the Dreamliner will fly between Frankfurt and New York – Newark Airport.
