Lufthansa celebrates Oktoberfest with new London routes

Munich’s legendary Oktoberfest draws more than 6 million culture seekers and epicureans from across the globe each year, making it a hallmark event for discerning travelers. 

From the vibrant parades and gourmet Bavarian fare to the unparalleled atmosphere of conviviality and over 8 million liters of beer poured, Oktoberfest is a once-in-a-lifetime celebration for luxury travel enthusiasts.

To coincide with the festival, Lufthansa has introduced a slate of tailored routes and enhanced schedules from the UK market, ensuring seamless connections for those wishing to immerse themselves in Munich’s seasonal festivities.

Between 15 September and 1 October, the airline offers 11 exclusive flights between London Stansted and Munich (Thursday to Sunday), designed to maximize your festival experience:

  • LH2494 departs Munich at 18:05, landing at Stansted at 19:05
  • LH2495 departs Stansted at 19:55, arriving in Munich at 22:45

In addition, Lufthansa now operates two distinctive routes from London Heathrow, catering to winter sports aficionados and cultural explorers alike, with direct flights to Friedrichshafen in Germany and Salzburg in Austria—ideal for ski holidays and classical music escapes.

These routes are available from 16 December through 30 March:

Heathrow–Salzburg (Saturdays and Sundays)

  • Heathrow departs at 11:10, arriving Salzburg at 13:20
  • Salzburg departs at 14:55, arriving Heathrow at 17:05

Heathrow–Friedrichshafen (Saturdays)

  • Heathrow departs at 13:50, arriving Friedrichshafen at 15:40
  • Friedrichshafen departs at 17:40, arriving Heathrow at 19:35
