This summer, Iberia is set to launch new eco-friendly amenity kits for its Business Class and Premium Economy passengers on long-haul routes. These kits, designed by the Catalan designer Teresa Helbig, draw inspiration from her uniform designs for Iberia, featuring vivid blue, red, and yellow colours.
The kits are filled with natural and vegan skincare products from Uvas Frescas, utilising surplus grapes from the wines available onboard, and the packaging is made from sugar cane. Each kit contains essentials such as socks, an eye mask, a toothbrush, toothpaste, and earplugs. Additionally, Business Class passengers receive extra items like lip balm and hand cream.
Passengers have the option to request a full kit or select individual items from it, with the assurance that any unclaimed products will be recycled for future use.
These kits are produced by Kaelis, incorporating recycled materials from approximately 7.5 million 550ml plastic bottles, which has resulted in saving 1.2 million litres of water and cutting energy emissions by 70%.
The packaging process for these bags is undertaken by Envera, a group formed by Iberia employees who are parents of individuals with disabilities, adding an additional layer of social responsibility to this initiative.
