Hawaiian Airlines has unveiled its new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner interior and its Business Class - Leihōkū Suite.
Commencing service next year on selected routes, passengers aboard Hawaiian’s 787 will enjoy cabin designs that reflect the rich natural beauty of Hawaiʻi, “featuring striking textures, island-inspired sunrise and sunset lighting, and fluid patterns symbolising ocean waves and wind”.
The airline - that has been flying since 1929 - will start flying its 300-seat 787 in early 2024 - complete with its Business Class cabin - the Leihōkū Suites (meaning 'garland of stars'). These 34 suites feature fully reclining seating, an 18-inch in-flight entertainment screen, personal outlets, wireless charging, and direct aisle access. The suites, arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration with doors, provide the option for privacy or shared experiences, with double seats that can be combined, inviting couples to “drift off under a starlit ceiling”.
In creating the Leihōkū Suite, Hawaiian Airlines became the inaugural airline to collaborate with Adient Aerospace – a joint venture between Boeing and Adient, an industry leader in car seating.
The design of Hawaiian’s 787 is a “thoughtful tribute” to Polynesian navigators who traversed the Pacific by studying the stars, sun, winds, waves, and wildlife.
