Finnair is celebrating its 100th anniversary with a special inflight menu that weaves together Nordic classics and modern culinary delights.
The "Finnair 100" menu showcases dishes from various decades of the airline's rich culinary journey. Passengers in the Business Class cabins on long-haul flights from Helsinki can indulge in this special menu until 23rd January, 2024.
The options available for selection on the 'Manage Booking' portal include mains inspired by the 60s and 70s, including reindeer meatballs in port wine sauce and beef chuck roll with potato gratin. The starters take a cue from the 80s and 90s, featuring choices such as roasted beetroot with goat's cheese and wasabi salmon roll with seaweed caviar. Traditional blueberry pie and sea buckthorn mousse are the star desserts of the menu.
Accompanying these delectable dishes are meticulously chosen wines, including the 2022 Castilla la Mancha. The wine bottle labels pay homage to Finnair’s history, replicating designs from their original posters of the 1950s and 60s by Erik Bruun.
A special Premium Economy menu is due to be published.
