Finnair serves centenary menu

To commemorate a remarkable century of aviation, Finnair has introduced a signature inflight menu that artfully blends time-honoured Nordic recipes with contemporary gourmet flair.

The exclusive "Finnair 100" menu pays tribute to the carrier’s culinary evolution across the decades. Travellers in Business Class on intercontinental routes from Helsinki are treated to this celebratory menu for a limited period in 2025.

Through Finnair’s 'Manage Booking' platform, guests can pre-select main dishes inspired by the golden eras of the 1960s and 1970s, such as reindeer meatballs enhanced with a port wine glaze and slow-cooked beef chuck roll paired with potato gratin. Starters evoke the sophistication of the 1980s and 1990s, with options like roasted beetroot crowned with goat’s cheese and a wasabi-salmon roll adorned with seaweed caviar. For dessert, passengers can delight in a classic Finnish blueberry pie or a refreshing sea buckthorn mousse.

Each course is complemented by expertly curated wines, including the acclaimed 2022 Castilla la Mancha vintage. The wine labels themselves are a nod to Finnair’s storied past, featuring reimagined artwork from the iconic 1950s and 60s posters by designer Erik Bruun.

An updated Premium Economy menu is expected to be released, continuing the centennial celebration across additional cabins.
