Cathay Pacific has opened its first-ever non-airport lounge - at the Shekou Cruise Home Port in Shenzhen.
The ferry lounge is designed to enhance the combined sea and air travel experience for passengers, linking Hong Kong International Airport with the wider Greater Bay Area.
Cathay Pacific aims to be the premier premium airline for international travel to and from the Greater Bay Area, focusing on offering diverse and convenient intermodal travel options, including air, sea, and land. The Shekou lounge facilitates seamless transitions for customers using Cathay's codeshare ferry services to travel directly from the Shekou Cruise Home Port to the SkyPier Terminal at Hong Kong International Airport. The lounge features a relaxing environment with a 270-degree panoramic view, including Hong Kong.
Ronald Lam, CEO of Cathay Group, expressed enthusiasm about the lounge, noting it as a significant step in strengthening connections between Hong Kong International Airport and neighbouring cities in the Greater Bay Area. He emphasised Cathay's commitment to investing in and improving the travel experience.
Access to the lounge is available to Cathay Diamond and Gold members, Business Class and First Class travellers, Cathay Silver members, and qualifying oneworld members on Cathay Pacific flights.
