Brussels Airlines debuts its refurbished Sunrise Lounge

Brussels Airlines has officially reopened its transformed Sunrise Lounge, now setting a new benchmark for luxury at Brussels Airport’s T-Zone. Reserved for Business Class guests traveling to Sub-Saharan Africa, this exclusive space blends Belgian hospitality with African-inspired design for a truly distinctive pre-flight experience.

The recent overhaul has expanded the lounge’s seating by 25%, ensuring ample room during peak hours. Travelers can now recharge in one of five private nap pods, refresh in modernized shower suites, or indulge in a wider array of gourmet hot dishes at the enhanced buffet. Sustainability is central to the upgrade, with Grohe Blue water stations reducing plastic waste and a sophisticated self-serve beer tap offering local Belgian brews on demand.

For a sense of place, the lounge incorporates Ethnicraft’s signature oak furnishings and wall coverings inspired by Africa’s vivid natural vistas. These design choices create a serene, upscale environment that references the destinations served by the airline’s robust African network.

The renovation complements other enhancements in the T-Zone, including increased general seating, an engaging Smurf-themed play wall for young travelers, and a 24/7 pharmacy vending machine for essential health items.

As a core member of the Lufthansa Group, Brussels Airlines maintains a strong commitment to its African routes, currently connecting Brussels with 17 key Sub-Saharan cities.
