As part of its September – Best of British Menu – BA will be offering its long-haul Business and First Class passengers a traditional British roast meal – featuring beef or chicken, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, and gravy.
The airline’s new monthly menu will champion ingredients and recipes with British provenance. BA’s caterers – DO&CO at Heathrow and Newrest at Gatwick – will work closely with farmers, caterers, and producers in the creation of traditional dishes – advocating farm to fork.

As well as main courses, BA chefs have created special monthly desserts with September’s being “All Things Botanical” - including an elderflower and white chocolate dessert with compressed apple and elderflower sorbet.
The September traditional roast will feature a 21-day aged beef – but for flights to the Indian subcontinent, passengers will be offered roast chicken.
Sajida Ismail, Head of Inflight said: “As we look ahead to welcoming back customers who may not have flown for a while, we wanted to mark the occasion by offering a really special menu that celebrates the best of Britain. We have created dishes using the best of British ingredients while they are in season. We are particularly excited to be offering a roast dinner on board. We know that Yorkshire puddings and crispy roast potatoes can be difficult to re-create at altitude, but our chefs have been working to make it happen, because we know that every British roast dinner should have them!”

Over the coming months, passengers in First Class and Business Class can expect to see other British gastro pub classics including chicken pie with mashed potatoes, sausage and mash, lamb hot pot and for vegetarians, butternut squash gnocchi with blue cheese sauce and wild cavolo nero, and handmade ricotta mezzaluna with truffle cream and grilled asparagus.
