BA returns to mainland China

British Airways has officially resumed its prestigious nonstop routes to mainland China, marking a significant milestone in transcontinental travel as global demand surges in 2025.

Travelers may now reserve seats on daily flights between London Heathrow and Shanghai Pudong, as well as on four weekly departures to Beijing Daxing. These routes have been meticulously restored following a multi-year pause, reaffirming BA’s commitment to connecting the UK and China’s commercial and cultural hubs.

Heathrow to Shanghai flights depart at 12:25, touching down in Shanghai at 07:55 the following morning. Return flights leave at 11:00 and arrive back in London at 18:25 the same day.

Heathrow to Beijing flights are scheduled for 15:05 departures, landing in Beijing at 09:35 the next day, with return journeys at 11:20 arriving in London at 17:30.

Seats are available across all four distinguished cabins—First, Club World (Business), World Traveller Plus (Premium Economy), and World Traveller (Economy)—ensuring a tailored experience for every discerning flyer.

British Airways’ legacy in China dates back to 1980, with the only interruption caused by the global pandemic. The airline’s return is underpinned by a robust safety protocol: advanced HEPA filtration systems refresh cabin air every two to three minutes, removing over 99.9% of airborne microbes and particulates, matching leading hospital standards.
