Air France reopens San Francisco premium lounge

Air France has officially reopened its extensively upgraded premium lounge at San Francisco International Airport, providing an elevated pre-flight experience for discerning travelers. Conveniently located at the A gates in the International Terminal, the refreshed lounge now accommodates up to 117 guests and boasts expanded spaces, state-of-the-art amenities, and a tranquil environment ideal for relaxation, productivity, or gourmet dining before boarding or between flights.

This exclusive lounge welcomes La Première, Business Class, and Flying Blue Elite Plus passengers flying with Air France, KLM, and SkyTeam alliance partners.

The interior design immerses guests in a quintessentially French ambiance from the moment they arrive. Premium materials such as natural wood and supple leather are paired with Air France's signature palette—deep blues, crisp whites, and refined red accents—creating a sophisticated and timeless setting. Furnishings feature celebrated French designers: Pierre Paulin’s iconic Little Tulip chairs, Patrick Jouin’s distinctive Ester bar stools, and Softshell chairs by the Bouroullec brothers, underscoring the brand’s commitment to style and comfort.

Our recent visit revealed a harmonious balance between privacy and community, with thoughtfully arranged nooks, open-plan seating, plush armchairs, and communal worktables. Whether seeking solitude or a collaborative workspace, guests will appreciate the lounge’s tailored zones.

The culinary area delivers a taste of Paris with a brasserie-inspired buffet. Guests can savor French specialties at a communal table or in cozy dining corners, with an evolving menu featuring both hot and cold selections. Highlights include French classics like croque-monsieur and boeuf bourguignon, alongside vegetarian options. Air France’s ongoing sustainability initiatives are evident: menus spotlight local, seasonal produce, food waste is minimized, and all catering incorporates robust recycling practices. Water dispensers throughout the lounge further support the airline’s commitment to reducing single-use plastics.

The lounge’s striking bar, finished in blue-stained wood, is a focal point for socializing. A professional bartender serves a curated selection of French wines, Champagnes, premium spirits, and signature cocktails. Locally brewed draught beers are also available, catering to every palate.

La Première passengers enjoy an exclusive retreat within the lounge, illuminated by floor-to-ceiling windows. This serene enclave features bespoke furnishings, a dedicated à la carte restaurant, and direct access to the lounge bar—mirroring the airline’s renowned in-flight luxury.

Streamlined access is ensured with self-service eligibility kiosks at the entrance. Throughout the lounge, guests benefit from complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, abundant power and USB charging points, luxurious shower suites, and digital newspapers and magazines accessible via the Air France Play app.

For Summer 2025, Air France is operating up to 12 weekly nonstop flights between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and San Francisco International Airport, maintaining robust transatlantic connectivity.
