Air France opens new LAX premium lounge

Air France has opened a new premium lounge at Los Angeles International Airport, located in the Tom Bradley terminal.

Situated near the boarding gates for Air France flights, this tranquil and inviting space is perfect for relaxing, dining, and indulging in the French travel experience.

This lounge is exclusively for Air France’s La Première, Business, and Flying Blue Elite Plus customers, as well as eligible patrons of KLM and SkyTeam partner airlines. It's open daily from 9 a.m. to 11:30 p.m and The Lounge spans over 1,100 square meters (nearly 12,000 square feet) accommodating 172 passengers.

The entire space reflects the airline's aesthetic, featuring its signature colours—shades of blue, luminous whites, and touches of red—creating a sleek and chic design. The carefully selected furniture includes creations by renowned French designers such as Patrick Jouin's Ester chairs, Pierre Paulin's Ribbon armchairs, Charlotte Perriand's coffee table, and Margaux Keller's lighting designs.

A Dining Area Celebrating French Cuisine

At the heart of the lounge, a dining area highlights French cuisine. Modelled after Parisian brasseries, it offers individual seating, a large communal table for a convivial atmosphere, and private alcoves. The gastronomic offerings evolve throughout the day, featuring hot or cold options, savoury or sweet dishes, and vegetarian menus. Dishes like Monkfish Provençale, Beef Bourguignon, and braised chicken invite guests to savor the gourmet flavours of France. A chef prepares dishes on request in an open kitchen, including pan-fried prawns or duck confit cassoulet.

The bar offers a wide selection of French wines and Champagnes, spirits, local beers, and cocktails and mocktails prepared by a bartender. Comfortable bar seating and private areas with booths and armchairs are available.

Sustainable Dining Practices

Air France is committed to sustainability in its dining offerings, prioritising local and seasonal produce. The airline also focuses on minimising food waste, implementing selective sorting, and recycling its catering services. Water fountains and drink dispensers are provided to reduce single-use plastic consumption.

Clarins Spa Treatment Area

The new lounge features a spa treatment area by Clarins, Air France’s partner in skincare for nearly 20 years. Clarins teams welcome customers in two cosy cabins, offering three complimentary facial treatments: "anti jetlag," "instant detox," and "illuminating eye-care." These treatments, available daily from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. starting September 2024, can be booked at the lounge’s reception desk. La Première customers can also reserve treatments by calling their dedicated number.

Private Area for La Première Guests

At the heart of the lounge, La Première cabin passengers have a private area designed to reflect the luxurious La Première suites available onboard. This space, offering soft lighting and a privileged view of the runways, seats twelve guests and includes its own dining area. La Première customers can also enjoy an exclusive "de-stress" treatment in the Clarins area.

Flying Blue Ultimate customers have access to a special area near the dining section, featuring large armchairs for a homely feel. Additionally, a secluded area offers a serene environment for relaxation and rest. The lounge also includes a workspace with ergonomic armchairs and a closed cabin for phone calls to maintain tranquility.

The reception area features eligibility kiosks for easy access, free Wi-Fi, numerous electric and USB outlets near the seats, and shower cubicles available throughout the day. Digital press is accessible via the Air France Play app.

This summer, Air France is operating up to 26 flights a week between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Los Angeles International Airport, including 21 with Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft equipped with La Première suites. Up to five flights a week also connect Los Angeles to Papeete (Tahiti).
