Verdi has announced strikes by security staff at the German airports Frankfurt, Hamburg, Bremen, Berlin, Leipzig, and Dresden for Thursday, February 1st.
We strongly recommend that guests who want to start their journey at one of those airports on February 1st to not come to the airport, as there will be no access to the departure area.
This also applies to customers who are traveling to Frankfurt Airport by train and have a connecting flight from Frankfurt.
We are currently checking the effects on the flight schedule and will inform you promptly about updates at lufthansa.com and via the app. It is also possible to regularly check the status of the flights on our website.
Important: Please take the opportunity now to rebook flights at lufthansa.com, via the app or through our Service Center, either to a flight before or after February 1st. We offer free rebooking on Lufthansa Group Airlines flights in the period from January 30th to February 8th. This option also applies to guests traveling on international flights to Frankfurt to transfer to a connecting flight. We recommend accepting this offer, as increased waiting and transfer times are also to be expected in the transit area.
Guests who are booked on domestic flights to and from Frankfurt on February 1st can already exchange their flight coupon for a Deutsche Bahn ticket free of charge at https://www.lufthansa.com/us/en/good-for-train. This is possible even if a flight has not yet been canceled. The rail journey must start on the day of issue and is valid for two days.
