Employees on social media. Threat or resource?
I think this is what it’s all about:
Jealousy and above all, incompetence in building brand image by help of your employees cost companies billions.
In pandemic times when companies have less or NO money for marketing this is even more serious.
In stress it can be tempting to “take the full control” and become more authoritarian. This makes the damage even worse because it breaks down teamwork and steepens the negative spiral. You don’t want to have this on your cv and it’s dangerous for both flights and companies.
You trust a friend and an employee is 7-8 times more credible than the company itself. 2 times more than the companys CEO, according to research.
No marketing budget in the world can beat your own employees. 5.000 employees with 350 followers each (worldwide average) and 7-8 times more credibility. You get it. It’s unbeatable ROI. If you don’t get it it’s only good for your competitors.
You must make your crewmembers work with, not against you and that's your responsibility as a Commander or CEO. If you can't you're not suited for the job.
Be careful now so we can get through this tough period and meet again. Traveling brings people together, a very good thing.
