Nobu Hotel Shoreditch has opened an innovative new Nobu Café in the Lobby Lounge of the hotel.
The 100-cover café, set in the lobby of the 181-bedroom east London hotel, offers an eclectic café menu, an exclusive Matcha bar, London’s only Kinto hand-brew Japanese filter-coffee, and a luxurious Nobu-style afternoon tea.
From 7am, Nobu Café will serve a selection of innovative Asian-inspired pastries and sweets alongside a ‘Nobu Bites’ menu. This features a number of hot and cold plates adapted from some of the restaurant’s best-loved dishes, as well as Nobu-style twists on classic lunch items.
Highlights of the unique menu include Wagyu Sliders, Tofu Bun; Rock Shrimp Nori Buns; and Korobuta Pork Belly Tonkatsu Sando.
Coffee lovers can enjoy London’s only Kinto Hand Brew Japanese filter coffee. This innovative pour-over method features a sustainable stainless steel filter that allows more of the coffees natural oils to infuse in the cup for the perfect coffee.
There is also a speciality Slow Drip Cold Brew and an extensive range of IKAATI Artisanal whole leaf teas. These are joined by a selection of speciality lattes, fresh-pressed juices and iced teas.
Nobu Café’s luxurious Afternoon Tea will be served daily from 12pm-5pm. Accompanied by tea or coffee, and the option to add a glass of Veuve Clicquot or a cup of Kinto Coffee or Imperial Gyokuro tea, the afternoon tea will offer a unique take on the British tradition, a press release said.
Dishes available for Afternoon Tea include Chicken Karage, Anticucho Den Miso & Pickled Cucumber on Sourdough; Crilled Tofu, Butter Lettuce & Shiso Pesto on Shokupan; and Yuzu & Kumquat Pound Cake.
In the evening, Nobu Café will offer an alcohol menu featuring wine and beer alongside a range of exciting and original Japanese-inspired, tea-based cocktails.
The easy-going yet sophisticated cafe has been decked out in a curated collection of timbers, dark-toned stone, and heavily woven textiles in natural tones. It hopes to provide an oasis of calm in the heart of London’s often hectic East End.
