Need more miles for award travel or know someone who could use some miles? Conveniently share miles between friends and family, and for a limited time the recipient earns up to 30% bonus miles. We’ll do our part too. Through October 10, we will donate ten miles for every transaction, to the American Airlines Kids in NeedSM program. Let’s make every mile count.

shareAAmiles® Terms and Conditions:

• Members must transfer 5,000-50,000 miles in a single per transaction through the shareAAmiles® program beginning 12:00 am Central Time, September 3, 2013, until 11:00 pm Central Time, October 10, 2013, to be eligible for the applicable bonus miles.
• The recipient of the shared miles will receive the applicable bonus miles.
• Transfers between 5,000 and 25,000 miles will earn 20% of the mileage shared in bonus miles.
• Transfer between 26,000 and 49,000 will earn 25% of the mileage shared in bonus miles.
• Transfers of 50,000 will earn 30% of the mileage shared in bonus miles.
• Please allow 72 hours for transferred AAdvantage® miles to post to the designated AAdvantage account.
• Please allow 5 days for the bonus miles to post to the recipient’s AAdvantage account.
• Transactions are nonreversible and nonrefundable.
• There is no limit to the number of transactions allowed during the offer period, however members may transfer up to 100,000 AAdvantage miles (in increments of 1,000 - 50,000 AAdvantage miles) and receive up to 100,000 miles (in increments of 1,000 - 50,000 AAdvantage miles) per AAdvantage account, per calendar year.
• Bonus miles earned do not count toward the 100,000 mile annual Share limit. AAdvantage miles transferred do not count toward elite-status qualification or Million MilerSM status.
• Ten bonus miles will be donated to the American Airlines Kid in NeedSM Program for every completed transaction from the shareAAmiles® program beginning 12:00 am CT September 3, 2013, to 11:00 pm CT October 10, 2013.
• Miles will be donated within 6-8 weeks after the promotion ends on 11:00 pm CT October 10, 2013.

Om A skickar 50.000 miles till B, B får 65.000 miles (50.000 miles +30%) och det kostar 585 USD.
Alltså man köper 15.000 miles för 585 USD. Inte så bra deal.

Som sagt, ingen vidare deal, precis som förut. En av de få situationer jag skulle kunna tänka mig att utnyttja ett sånt här erbjudande är om t ex barnen vid tidigare tillfälle har flugit med t ex AY, flighten har krediterat till barnens AA-konto och detta kommer inte att fyllas på inom överskådlig framtid. Då skulle man kunna se det som deal om man för över dessa poäng till sitt eget konto, om man jämför med att köpa motsvarande antal miles. Annars ser jag ingen större anledning att nappa på detta erbjudande.
