Etihad launches new, improved Wi-Fi packages

The Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways has launched new Wi-Fly packages called 'Chat' and 'Surf' - making it easier for passengers to stay connected and browse the web while flying on the airline's wide-body fleet.

Passengers flying with Etihad can enjoy complimentary messaging through the 'Chat' package by signing in with their Etihad Guest membership or enrolling online before their flight. The 'Chat' package includes access to popular messaging apps such as WhatsApp, Messenger, and WeChat.

For passengers who wish to surf the web, catch up on social media, or work while flying, they can purchase the 'Surf' Wi-Fly plan for a flat fee with unlimited data for the duration of the flight. The cost of the packages varies depending on the flight duration.

Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, emphasised the importance of “keeping guests connected" and was "thrilled to offer this complimentary benefit to Etihad Guest members”.

Etihad's narrow-body fleet will continue to offer mobile connectivity services, including phone calls, text messages, and data roaming packages.
