The William Vale

A BusinessClass.com Verified Hotel

The William Vale has some of the most stunning views out over Manhattan and, in a point of difference from other hotel offerings, is based across the water in Brooklyn’s hip Williamsburg neighbourhood. Occupying a 21-story glass and concrete mixed-use skyscraper, the hotel’s guest rooms are situated on the upper floors with views of Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens with multi-level outdoor spaces for guest use. These include the elevated Vale Park, 1,394 square metres of landscaped outdoor promenade with its chef’s garden and Airstream – Master Dips – serving burgers, waffle fries and dairy dips with a difference – and a seasonal, serviced pool deck (the largest hotel facility in New York) complete with cabanas and sunbeds for catching those elusive rays. There is also a rooftop area which changes use according to the seasons: in the winter months, it becomes Vale Rink for ice skating with a Winter Spa of red cedar outdoor barrel saunas and hot tubs for decompressing and relaxing whilst in the summer, there is the pop-up Turf Club with a lawn, outdoor games, yoga and rooftop film screenings. There is even a nine-hole mini golf course when the sun shines too, backed by a mural by Brooklyn artist, Jason Naylor. Other facilities include a large Fitness Centre on the fourth floor with iFIT connected Freemotion equipment and live and on-demand workouts from top athletes and trainers.

Residents may also use one of the hotel’s custom bikes to explore the neighbourhood’s shops, restaurants and bars whilst the nearby subway line is a direct link to Manhattan. The 183 contemporary guest rooms and suites all offer smart technology, Bellino linens, Le Labo amenities and balconies with floor to ceiling windows in every room allowing even the most cosy Queen room at 22 square metre (with a seven square metre furnished balcony) to feel generous. The style is sleekly modern with white floors, colourful soft furnishings and art works by local artists. Other rooms include the apply named 35 square metre Gotham Corner Suite with Wraparound Balcony for unobstructed views of Manhattan from a private balcony and a bathroom with a deep soaking tub parked right next to floor to ceiling windows for a bath with a view. The duplex two bedroom Vale Garden Residence meanwhile is a one of a kind, beautifully-styled suite with a private terraced 152 square metre balcony with lounge seating, dining spaces and a bubbling Jacuzzi for staring out over the horizon. Visit with your doggie too, as they are welcomed warmly here with treats and more. When it comes to eating and drinking, there is Leuca, an all-day dining restaurant inspired by Southern Italy and featuring the rustic menus of acclaimed chef, Andrew Carmellini of NoHo Hospitality with home-made pastas, pizzas and classic dishes made with the best of seasonal produce. The weekend brunch is particularly popular with the neighbourhood whilst Westlight is a 22nd floor indoor/outdoor rooftop bar with Andrew’s small plates menu complemented by cocktails, rare spirits, wines and craft beers.
