The Plaza New York City

A BusinessClass.com Verified Hotel

The Plaza, New York, a National Historic Landmark, is one of the world’s most famous hotels with a Vanderbilt no less signing in as the first guest back in 1907. Star of film and screen, today’s globally renowned Plaza stands 21 stories high and takes up nearly an entire corner block on Fifth Avenue and Central Park South, offering a mix of luxury condominiums and hotel. There are 282 classically grand guest rooms including 102 stylish suites with room sizes being very generous for New York, ranging from the Plaza King at a roomy 44 square metres of cream and gold living space going all the way up to the 195 square metre two-bedroom Grand Penthouse Terrace Suite with views over Central Park. Other unique rooms include the Tower Room on the 18th floor located in a corner turret of the property (featuring a seven-metre-high exposed brick ceiling) and the charming child-friendly Eloise room designed by Betsey Johnson for the hotel’s famous fictitious little girl who supposedly lived at the hotel with her nanny. There are elegant, butler serviced Edwardian suites located on floors 11 to 19 whilst the property’s Legacy Suites range from the expansive Vanderbilt Fifth Avenue two-bedroom suite to the timelessly grand Pulitzer Suite and the one- and two-bedroom Penthouse suites, the latter offering a duplex layout terrace suite with views out over the city’s skyline and Central Park.

When hunger bites, head to the famous Palm Court, the hotel’s renowned lounge particularly known for its American menus and classic Afternoon Tea or The Champagne Bar overlooking Fifth Avenue and the famous Pulitzer Fountain for pastries, light bites and speciality coffees by day and the finest champagnes, caviar and wines by night. For retail therapy, there are five shops including The Plaza Boutique for mementos from the hotel and Eloise at the Plaza, gifts inspired by perhaps the hotel’s naughtiest and favourite young guest. Fitness wise, The Plaza Fitness Centre is open 24/7 with a range of TechnoGym equipment whilst for pampering, the Guerlain Spa offers transformative treatments with techniques developed at its first Paris spa. For looking good, stride confidently to Warren-Tricomi Salon for superior pampering and subtle sophistication for that special night out.
