The LaLit London

The LaLit London is a perfect design fusion of Victorian grandeur and Indian colour. Located in London’s most historic borough - Southwark - within the former Grade-II listed St Olave Grammar School, the hotel has been authentically restored with oak panelling, cornicing and arched windows, perfectly complemented by contemporary Indian fabrics, textures and style. Today’s property features 70 guest rooms and suites with entry level rooms called Classrooms – a lovely touch - and the largest suite being The LaLit Legacy Experience housed in the former headmaster’s rooms. Other suites have been named for the architect or for the area, with The Tower Suite housed in the original tower of the building and featuring restored original windows. 

For dining, there is the all-day dining pan Indian restaurant – Baluchi – located in the majestically vaulted Great Hall whilst the balcony hosts The Gallery for an Indian take on Afternoon Tea. For crafty tipples, head to either the Teacher’s Room or the wood panelled Headmaster’s Room and sip cognac or champagne whilst admiring the intricate inlaid ceiling. For fitness, there is a 24/7 gym whilst Rejuve – The Spa will wrest away any aches or pains with a mixture of Eastern and Western therapies.
