ModernHaus SoHo

A BusinessClass.com Verified Hotel

ModernHaus SoHo enjoys a discreet address on the edge of New York’s SoHo, rising 18 stories above the neighbourhood and offering the same creatively edgy atmosphere in its design that pervades this part of the city. The star quality of the hotel’s curated art collection is immediately evident as you walk into the lobby with pieces by Harland Miller, Alexander Calder, George Condo, Jean Dubuffet and more, spread out over the guest rooms and public spaces of the property. With a minimalist style of Bauhaus simplicity, expect a clean lined aesthetic throughout the 114 light-filled guest rooms, all with large windows with expansive views out over the city or the Hudson River.  Rooms range from the 26 square metre Modern Queen, through to the double aspect corner king studio rooms at 32 – 35 square metres, the expansive 6661 square metre Horizon Suite with breath-taking views out over SoHo or the vast Gallery Penthouse with magnificent panoramic views over the Freedom Tower, Tribeca, Manhattan Bridge and the East River. Apart from the 122 square metres of living space, there is also a 12-person dining table for friendly gatherings. Minimalist style does not mean skimping on the luxurious necessities though so there are Frette linens; Le Labo bath amenities; custom designed beds and mattresses; Nespresso machines; heated bathroom floors; hair dryers; garment steamers and glass enclosed bathrooms with rain showers.

For eating and drinking, try the seasonal menus at Veranda, a state of the art retractable-roofed conservatory with indoor and outdoor spaces to relax and enjoy a glass of wine or a cocktail. The Back Bar at Veranda extends the outdoor space with open-air terraces, living walls and a fireplace to keep warm during the colder months. It is perfect for light bites, a sip or two of wine or a nightcap. The top floor is home to Jimmy at ModernHaus, a rooftop bar with an outdoor pool deck looking out over the city. A relaxing intimate space, with vintage and modern furnishings, the look is pure Picasso Blue Period with music and more and a see and be seen vibe. If all you want is a coffee or a Danish, head to the popular Jumpin Jacks, an all-day eatery which come the evening, has the feel of a cocktail bar. For fitness, roam around the neighbourhood on the hotel’s custom bikes, swim in the rooftop pool open during the warmer months, relax on a lounger to soak up the rays or for the more energetic, head to the Fitness Centre, equipped with a Peloton bike, TechnoGym equipment and fitness classes with expansive views to take your mind off the workout. The property also pampers pooches and even offers its own Eau du Haus, a custom fragrance, to take a bit of the relaxed ModernHaus SoHo ambiance back home with you.
