Hôtel D'Aubusson

A BusinessClass.com Verified Hotel

Hôtel d’Aubusson is housed within a beautiful 17th century building in the heart of historic Saint-Germain-des-Prés amidst the antique shops and art galleries of the Left Bank. Near the Latin Quarter, a short 10-minute walk to Notre Dame and Le Louvre, this 50-room boutique gem of a hotel was once a hot spot for the literati of the times be that Voltaire and Rousseau or Sartre and Camus. Of all the features of the property, perhaps the most jaw-dropping of all is the magnificent historic wood beamed reception rooms with an immense Burgundy stone fireplace, its roaring flames illuminating the vintage mirrors, crystal chandeliers, the floor to ceiling windows, the Versailles parquet flooring and the Aubusson tapestry. All these elements come perfectly into play, complemented by neutrally toned furnishings with a contemporary edge. At the heart of the hotel is a very pretty courtyard, a tranquil space filled with plump sofas, tables and chairs under parasols and surrounded by lush planting – the perfect place to enjoy either breakfast or coffee in the morning or tea and cocktails as day turns to night. When it comes to the guest rooms, there are four room categories, some opening out onto the terrace, others up in the rooftops, ranging in size from the entry level Superior at 19 to 22 square metres, to the Grand Luxe ranging in size from 24 to 29 square metres, the Duplex Loft designed for up to three to four people to the most spacious Junior Suite offering between 30 to 38 square metres of living space, complete with lounge area. All these rooms are impeccably designed, dressed in stylish fabrics and wallpapers of complementing tones – (aqua and grey, ivory and cream, burgundy and grey, yellow and gold) to offer serene sanctuaries. All also come with all the bells and whistles we expect today including Nespresso machines, Le Labo toiletries, Bluetooth, docking stations and more.

For snacks and drinks from late afternoon to midnight, head to the Café Laurent, once a meeting place for the arts and intellectuals as well as home to lovers of Jazz music. Enjoy live jazz concerts in a comfortably lounge setting from Monday to Saturday whilst for dining, the concierge can arrange reservations at any number of gastronomic restaurants, cafés and bistros in the near vicinity. For relaxation, the hotel offers a 400 square metre Spa of the Hôtel d’Aubusson, exclusively reserved for hotel guests. Facilities include a magnificent 20-metre-long lap pool; a steam room; a sauna; a Scandinavian shower; an ice fountain and a balneotherapy bench in the wet areas whilst in the dry, there is a fitness area overlooking the pool and a treatment room offering massages and facial treatments with Le Labo and Phytomer products.
