Crosby Street Hotel

A BusinessClass.com Verified Hotel

Crosby Street Hotel is a feast for the senses with the quirky, unusual touch of British designer Kit Kemp immediately evident in this, the first of Firmdale Hotels outposts in the USA. Sited in a quiet street in the heart of New York’s SoHo, the property mixes a warehouse-loft style property with British classic style using the bright patterned fabrics, wallpapers, cornices and one-off pieces of art that are part of her design arsenal. With high ceilings, oak floors and floor to ceiling cast-iron industrial windows, her colourful designer fabrics and curated artworks commissioned from local artists to lend a local touch, give a lightness and warmth to the 86 rooms and suites spread out over eleven floors. Rooms sizes range from 32 square metres for the entry level Superior Room to 34 square metres for the Deluxe Room Top Floor. Suites are naturally more spacious and range from 37 for a Luxury Junior Suite to the two-bedroom Crosby Suite at a roomy 140 square metres. One of the most popular suites is the second floor Meadow Suite, with French windows opening out onto a lush American woodland setting with table and chairs whilst the largest Crosby Suites offer spectacular views over lower Manhattan and large living rooms and dining spaces. Room amenities include Tivoli Radios; a Bose Soundlink system; smart TVs and DVD players and minibars full of locally sourced treats. In the  bathrooms, expect heated towel rails, Frette bath towels and her own brand Rik Rak toiletries. An environmentally responsible property with a Gold LEEDS certification, Crosby Street Hotel features a chic Drawing Room with plump sofas and fireplaces, plus a 99-seat state of the art screen room, a leafy, quiet sculpture garden at the heart of the hotel and a 24/7 fully equipped fitness studio.

When it comes to dining, the cheerful Crosby Bar stretches from Crosby Street to the front of the property through to Lafayette Street at the back, opening out onto the garden, serving an international menu of favourites as well as a classic British afternoon tea, weekend brunch and a relaxing cocktail or three at the long pewter bar. The Crosby Terrace is open during the warmer months for light snacks, innovative cocktails and bar snacks. Families are very welcome here with a wide range of toys, board games, children’s bathrobes and slippers and a children’s menu.
