Conrad New York

A BusinessClass.com Verified Hotel

Conrad New York Downtown, an all-suite property, enjoys an enviable location in the heart of downtown Manhattan, close to the financial district, One World Trade Observatory, Brooklyn Bridge, Greenwich Village, SoHo, Tribeca and the 9/11 memorial. The landscaped High Line is also nearby as is the Statue of Liberty and Governor’s Island, accessible during the summer.  Although quite far away from Midtown and Central Park, never fear, Fulton Street and The Oculus subway stations are nearby allowing easy access to the entire city. There is also an airport shuttle service from each of New York’s three airports along with valet parking for any local drivers. The 463 contemporary styled suites seem more like apartments than anything else and there are five  categories to choose from starting with the open concept Deluxe suites with the option of a king or two double beds and 40 square metres of space, the prized Hudson River view suites with a separate living area (40 – 65 square metres of space) and the Executive Suite at 65 square metres of space which can be expanded to encompass two or three bedrooms. The 70 square metre Luxury Corner Suites might be among the prime suites as they enjoy windows with views out over two parts of the city and include spa tubs in the bathrooms and a four-person dining table. The top suite is of course the presidential, three-bedroom Conrad Suite coming in at a generous 139 square metres of space although until 31st March, it has morphed into the Gold in Motion Suite in partnership with Hall des Lumiéres, Lower Manhattan’s new interactive digital art centre. The suite features the works of Gustav Klimt and enjoys gold-themed accents and floral decorations together with a complimentary visit to the experience. All the accommodation comes with Nespresso machines; large flat screen HDTVs; mini bars with gourmet snacks; in room safes and touch panel light controls.

When it comes to wining and dining, there are two options – Atrio Wine Bar & Restaurant based on the second level of a soaring fifteen story lobby offering seasonal international favourites throughout the day and the outdoor seasonally opening Loopy Doopy Rooftop Bar with its signature Poptail cocktail. The property also has a small fitness facility on site. Sustainability is very important to the hotel and they have a range of initiatives to reduce their carbon footprint including smart lights; full sized amenities; energy saving in suite temperatures when movement is not detected; bulk amenities to reduce reliance on plastics; recycling Nespresso pods and reducing water wastage.
