Built as a stately home in 1883, the Vedruna Palace was transformed into the Claris Hotel & Spa in 1992. The hotel is located in the centre of Barcelona - close to two of architect Antoni Gaudí’s masterpieces – La Pedrera and Casa Batlló. The Claris features 124 rooms & suites – beautifully appointed and artistic. The owner of the Derby Hotels Collection – of which the Claris is the flagship – has a penchant for antiquities. The hotel is peppered with Hindu, Roman and pre-Colombian artefacts. Indeed, the hotel boasts its own museum dedicated to treasures from the pre-Colombian era.

The Claris takes it one step further and the Mayan Secret Spa offers treatments that involve ancient Mayan rituals. The hotel offers a gym, and a superb outdoor swimming pool. La Terraza del Claris serves Michelin-starred quality cuisine under the watchful eyes of Chef Aurelio Morales. Mr Kao is one of the most delightful restaurants in Barcelona. It serves incredible dim sum using classic Chinese recipes and Mediterranean ingredients.
