Google has released the year’s most searched for travel destinations, providing a glimpse at which destinations were on people’s lips in 2017.
It’s worth noting, however, that the purpose of these searches cannot be verified, so some destinations may have been popular due to reasons unrelated to travel – such as Las Vegas and Barcelona, which both were in the press for reasons beyond their attraction as a tourist destination.
For the rest of the list, we can take it in good faith that they were searched for because of their prowess as a travel destination. And it’s hard to argue with the numbers, these destinations are some of the most beautiful and fascinating in the world and it’s clear to see why they were trending in 2017.
