Here goes for my first ever trip report
In January I became aware of this discussion on the Businessclass forum, highlighting some really cheap business class fares with Qatar Airways. I ended up booking a return trip over Easter from Copenhagen to Saigon/Ho Chi Minh City, where I will meet up with my friend flying in from Abu Dhabi. The cost of the tickets ended up in DKK 8.380. Below is a review of the flight CPH-DOH QR162 departing at 09.50 in the morning.
After check-in in Copenhagen you are given access to the fast track for security and the Aspire Lounge in the B-terminal. The lounge itself is nothing special (especially not compared to the Al Mourjan Business Lounge in DOH, where I am writing this review), but I like the fact that they reserved the most quite part of the lounge for Qatar Airways business class passengers.
Entrance to the lounge in the B-terminal. The lounge is located one floor above all the shops.

I took this photo of the 787 Dreamliner parked at gate C33 on my way to boarding. Boarding happened with very effective priority boarding for business class and status passengers, and I was the first person on board.
In the empty cabin you really notice how much space is available for each individual passenger. Below are a few more photos, where you can really see the amount of space in the cabin.
Business class entrance.
Overview of the main business class cabin from behind.
And this is my seat - 3A. I was personally greeted by a very smiling flight attendant even before I sat down into the seat.
I haven't flown that much in long haul business class, but I did notice the vast difference in personal space compared to e.g. Etihads A330 staggered business class seats.
Storage room to you left.
Storage room to your right for a bottle of water and noice cancelling head phones.
A lot of leg room. In the upright seat position I could barely reach the ottoman. (I am 187 cm high)
What also caught my attention was the build quality of the seat and surroundings. Look at the stitchings in the leather decor on the left side of the seat. I think it looks really nice.
When comfortably in the seat the flight attendant arrived with separate food and drinks menus, offered a hot or cold towel and took orders for pre-flight drinks. Only non-alcoholic drinks are served at this point.
Further I was given a Giorgio Armani amenity kit including lib balm, ear plugs, after shave, after shave lotion, socks and an eye shade.

Examples from the wine menu:
When airborne the Oryx onair satellite internet and GSM system becomes available. I looked into going online for that typical travel post on Facebook, but the small data packages and the cost really scared my off. I mean a package of 5 MB... - we are in 2016!
But then on to a positive note. The food...
I ordered the Billecart-Salmon Brut for a pre-lunch drink, which was served with hot nuts.
And then four courses for the actual lunch:
Beetrout soup with chive creme fraiche and the Drappier Rose Champagne.
Classic Arabic mezze
Chicken tikka masala with green pea pulao
and finished off with an apple tart with cinnamon ice cream and a whiskey sour.
As a finishing touch by the flight attendant I was offered a small collection of Valrhona chocolates, which I happily put into my carry on luggage.
As for the entertainment system I really enjoyed the big high resolution screen. On this flight I watched the Hunger Games: Mocking Jay part 2 and The Martian.
A great feature is the dual screen option, where you can check the flight map on the handheld touch screen during a movie.
The last to mention is the lavatory, which is also relatively spacious given it is on an air plane. I would imagine approximately a square meter of free floor space to give you an idea of the size. Adding to the feeling of not being completely boxed in is the window, which adds a lot of light.
Further amenities including shaving and toothbrush kits are available in the lavatory.
All in all I am very satisfied with the flight experience in Qatar Airways business class. Definitely looking forward to the last three legs on this trip.
Now onwards to the restaurant in Al Mourjan. Dinner time!
