Emirates are celebrating the fact that their loyalty program, Skwards, has just reached 20 million members.

To mark the programme’s impressive milestone, 17 years after its inception, the airline will be handing out a number of “little surprises” at check-in, on board flights and in its lounges for some of its longest-standing members travelling from Dubai during the week beginning 4th March 2018.

Each month, Emirates Skywards welcomes an average of 220,00 new members from all over the world. The countries with the largest member bases are the UK with 2.6 million, the US with 1.8 million, Australia with 1.7 million, while India and the UAE, the airline’s home base, follow closely with 1.4 million members each.

A main attraction of the programme is the large range of global and local partners, which is continually expanding, affording members access to a variety of personalised offers and money-can’t-buy experiences. These partners include FlyDubai, Easyjet and Qantas, 13 other airlines, and 1.8 million properties through its 23 partner hotel groups.

Throughout 2017, Emirates Skywards members redeemed a whopping 35 billion Miles on reward flights, hotels stays and exclusive access to the biggest events worldwide. Members also redeemed 9,000 tickets to 50 world-class events including attending European Football matches, Formula 1® and the ATP Tour through the airline’s global sponsorships.

Recently, the programme, which is free to join, also gave some members the chance of a lifetime with access to money-can’t-buy seats on a special Real Madrid flight featuring some of the world’s biggest football stars.

Other benefits of the programme include lounge access, priority check-in and boarding and special privileges for Wi-Fi and advanced seat selection on board.
