Heathrow Airport releases exclusive luggage tags to mark the Coronation of King Charles III

Heathrow, the United Kingdom’s premier international gateway, is distributing 12,000 exclusive luggage tags to travelers in honor of the historic Coronation of King Charles III. This special memento marks a significant moment in British heritage and offers a unique keepsake for those passing through the airport.

In anticipation of the Coronation festivities, Heathrow is managing an influx of 12,000 flights over a ten-day period, welcoming a global array of dignitaries, international leaders, and discerning visitors. These commemorative tags are designed to capture the celebratory spirit while highlighting Heathrow’s pivotal role as the entryway to the nation.

Created by acclaimed British artist Morag Myerscough, the vibrant tag design incorporates a kaleidoscope of colors symbolizing the rich diversity of the Commonwealth. An iconic arch motif pays homage to Heathrow’s longstanding tradition as the UK’s principal aviation hub.

“Even in a world dominated by technology, a tangible luggage tag evokes the timeless pleasure of travel and instantly distinguishes your belongings,” shares Morag Myerscough. “During Coronation Week, it becomes a meaningful royal souvenir for every journey.”

Produced on premium, eco-friendly card stock, the tags are crafted by Barnard & Westwood, renowned as the Royal Family’s preferred stationers. This London-based atelier, which has held Royal Warrants for both Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles III, is celebrated for producing exquisite ceremonial stationery, including the programs for landmark royal occasions like the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Heathrow’s connection with the monarchy is steeped in history. Queen Elizabeth II first set foot on British soil as Queen at Heathrow, and the airport has frequently served as a transit point for the Royal Family. Over the decades, Heathrow has shared numerous milestones with His Majesty The King, such as the inauguration of Terminal 4 and commemorating the 10th anniversary of Terminal 5.
