Hong Kong-baserade flygbolaget Hong Kong Airlines har lagt en stororder på tio flygplan av typen Airbus A380. Ordern är värd 3,8 miljarder US-dollar (även om flygbolaget troligtvis fått en del rabatt på dessa listpriser). Flygbolaget vill ta upp kampen om passagerarna på de viktiga Europa-Asien rutterna, framförallt anser man att leveransen kommer passande när den nuvarande finanskrisen lagt sig.
