United Airlines is introducing a new, custom-designed seat for its domestic first-class cabins. The seat debuted recently on an Airbus A319, with A319s, A320s and many Boeing 737s and 757s following suit throughout the end of this year and 2016. Eventually, over 200 of United’s narrow-body aircraft will offer the new seat.

In-seat storage United have teamed up with design firm PriestmanGoode in developing the new seat. Customers were invited to test seat prototypes and supply their feedback to improve customer experience. At 21.1 inches wide, United’s new First seat is wider than the current seat and features all-leather seat covers in signature navy and champagne colours, a patented design tray table with tablet holder, in-seat universal A/C power outlets, additional in-seat storage, dedicated beverage holders and Granite cocktail tables.
