Thomas Cook Airlines will launch direct flights from Gatwick Airport to Cape Town as part of next year’s winter schedule.
From December 15, 2016, until March 20, 2017, Thomas Cook will operate flights to Cape Town on Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays, deploying the airliner’s refurbished A330 aircraft on the route. The new route will be the only service to Cape Town not departing from London’s Heathrow Airport, where British Airways conduct a twice-daily service from. “Cape Town really is a ‘WOW!’ destination for our customers. Our seat-only service is proving hugely popular as customers become aware that they can get the great Thomas Cook quality to some amazing long haul destinations,” said Christoph Debus, Chief Airlines and Hotels Officer for Thomas Cook. “With £100 million invested in our fleet and new cabin interiors, we’re flying more customers to better destinations on better aircraft and making long haul destinations accessible to everyone,” he added. Fares will start from £699 in economy and will go on sale in December.
