St Regis Macao, Cotai Central opens in China

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has announced the opening of The St. Regis Macao, Cotai Central, in Macau. 

Located in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Macau, China, the 400-room hotel aims “to elevate Macau’s luxury hospitality landscape with its uncompromising experiences, signature butler service, exceptional culinary venues and grand design – all underpinned by the St. Regis brand’s legacy,” Starwood said in a statement.

St. Regis Macao, Cotai Central - Deluxe King Guest Room The opening of The St. Regis Macao marks the brand’s seventh hotel in Greater China, and will be followed by the unveiling of five new St. Regis hotels in 2016 - in Kuala Lumpur and Langkawi in Malaysia, the Maldives, Changsha in China, and Cairo, Egypt. “There is an ever-increasing demand for luxury around the globe and Macau is no exception, especially with the recent proliferation of luxury brands in the market and a record number of visitors to the destination in 2015The original St. Regis hotel opened in New York City in 1904, and the debut of The St. Regis Macao marks the brand’s 36th property, following openings this year in Istanbul, Mumbai and Dubai,” said Jim Petrus, Global Brand Leader, St. Regis Hotels & Resorts. The St. Regis Macao, situated in the Cotai Strip, becomes the largest hotel in the brand’s portfolio. Shopping, dining and entertainment options are all within close proximity. Hong Kong International Airport is 60 minutes away by ferry or 15 minutes by helicopter, while Macau International Airport and the Taipa Ferry Terminal are less than 10 minutes away. The hotel house a “multi-experience dining venue,” comprised of five restaurants offering a variety of cuisine, including a bistro-style indoor garden. There is also a bar, St. Regis Bar. A spa with outdoor pool, 24 hour butler service, Grand Ballroom, five meeting rooms and an exclusive VIP meeting room are also available.
