Sheraton Phuket Grand Bay Resort to open in 2019

With an opening planned for January 2019, the hotel will be located in northeast Phuket (Thailand’s largest island) in the Grand Bay area, home to the Ao Po Grand Marina. “We look forward to partnering with Grand Bay Hotel Co., Ltd. to expand Starwood’s robust footprint in Thailand. The 200-room hotel is on a private beachfront and offers views of the Andaman Sea. A “grandiose” lobby area and bar will serve the brand’s new bar menu, 

, whilst facilities will include three dining venues, 1,326 square metres of meeting and event space, a spa, fitness centre and outdoor swimming pool. The hotel is an approximate 25-minute drive from Phuket International Airport and an hour’s drive to Patong, the hub of entertainment on the island. The opening will contribute to Sheraton’s goal of adding 150 hotels to its portfolio in the next five years. Starwood currently operates five Sheraton hotels in Thailand, including Sheraton Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers; Sheraton Hua Hin Resort & Spa; Sheraton Hua Hin Pranburi Villas; Sheraton Samui Resort; and Sheraton Pattaya Resort. The brand will also unveil Sheraton Phuket Kalim Beach Resort in 2018.
