During a recent press conference in Doha, Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al-Baker revealed that the airline is currently working on a new business class that, according to Al-Baker, will be unrivalled in the aviation industry. He said that the product will include bedrooms in business class and will be at a level that competes with first class on many other airlines, far above the competition. He describes the product as a new "super business class", with “a double bed at a business class fare". The product being worked on behind the scenes right now and is expected to be launched in 2016. The seat is brand new and Qatar Airways will have complete ownership of it, meaning it will be exclusive to Qatar Airways.
