Qatar Airways debut A350 in the US

Qatar Airways has became the first airline to fly the Airbus A350 to the United States. On Tuesday morning, a ’ferry flight’ took off from Doha and landed in New York at about 2pm, the airline said in a statement.

New York becomes Qatar Airways' fourth destination to be served by the A350, joining twice-daily flights to Frankfurt, a daily service to Munich, and a three-times daily service to Singapore.

Business Class on Qatar's A350 An eighth A350 will join the fleet before the end of the year and is scheduled to fly daily to Philadelphia from January 1, 2016. Qatar Airways plans to add additional A350s to its fleet throughout 2016, deploying the aircraft on flights to Boston from March 16 and Adelaide from May 2. The airline will also deploy the A350 on a second daily flight to New York from April 1.

The A350 offers 36 fully-flat Business Class seats in a 1-2-1 configuration, and 247 Economy Class seats in a 3-3-3 configuration.
