Oman Air recently received delivery of its new Airbus A330-300 and Boeing 737-900 aircraft, and at the same time took the opportunity to introduce the new cabins of both business class and economy class. Oman Air’s new Airbus A330-300 has 24 business class seats designed by BE Aerospace. The seats are arranged in a 2-2-2 configuration, an arrangement not unlike what Japan Airlines has on its new business class ‘Sky Suite’ in that passengers in window seats can access the aisle without having to clamber over a neighbour’s seat. The seats are 21 inches wide and recline into a fully flat bed of 77 inches. Each seat has an electronically-controlled headrest, seat depth and footrest, adjustable armrests, a meal table and cocktail table. There is also a reading lamp, mood lighting, a pocket for magazines and newspapers, as well as a storage compartment for headphones.
Oman Air's new business class The Boeing 737-900 has 12 Recaro-designed business class seats in a 2-2 configuration, each with a power socket, USB port, reading lamp, and a 10.6 inch screen for the entertainment system. Both new aircraft have economy economy seats designed by Zodiac Aerospace. There are 235 economy seats, each with a leg room of 32-inch, on the Airbus A330, and 171 seats, with 30-inch legroom, on the Boeing 737. The individual screens are 10.6 inches on both aircraft. The new business cabin unfortunately looks like it will be a downgrade when compared with Oman Air's current business class, which only has four seats across in a 1-2-1 configuration, and a seat that is up to the standard of what many airlines offer in first class.
