New travel apps for the Apple Watch

The launch of the new Apple Watch is just days away and more and more airlines and hotel chains have launch new apps, and developed or upgraded existing apps, in anticipation.

The latest airline to update its existing app is

SAS

. Practically, this means applications that work on the Iphone are also available on the Apple Watch. For example, you will be able to see, on your watch, which gate your flight departs from and at which time.

British Airways

was one of the first to launch an app for the Apple Watch. The app gives a summary of your journey, including departure time, flight status, flight number, route, countdown to departure and destination weather. You will also be able to see when it is time to check in and which gate will be used. Those who use the lounges at Heathrow Terminal 5 also get, according to BA, a welcome from Apple’s iBeacon with useful and timely information.

Emirates

also have a custom app for the Apple Watch that gives an overview of upcoming trips, including flight status and gate changes. It is available in English, French and German.

Accor

now has an Apple Watch app. The app provides information about their bookings, a message feature that indicates when it is possible to check in online, information about the service, an interactive map that shows the way to the hotel, as well as access to the bonus program, Le Club Accorhotels, with information about points and status. The app is available in ten languages.
