New service concept in Lufthansa’s business class on long-haul flights from summer 2015

After over a year of tests and fine-tuning, Lufthansa will begin implementing its new service concept in business class on long-haul flights this summer. The new concept is known as "Business Class restaurant service" or "service with a restaurant feel", and utilises a more individualised service. In practical terms, this means that each table will be served individually and all food and drink will be served directly from the galley to each passenger, rather than from wagons. This also means the end of service trays. Each flight attendant will receive a number of passengers that he/she is responsible for the entire flight. To achieve this, an extra flight attendant will be on board the aircraft. - Service on board will, thanks to the new concept, have a more personal touch and will be adapted to each passenger's rhythm in the service, explains Jens Bischof, commercial manager at Lufthansa, for BusinessClass during a press conference in Berlin.
