Lufthansa are currently testing a new in-flight entertainment system on selected medium-haul routes operated by the Airbus A321. The entertainment system is built on the BoardConnect platform, which means, unlike on long-haul flights, you do not need to install screens at every seat onboard. Instead, passengers can connect to the system using their laptop or tablet computer and via the WiFi network. Before departure you can download Lufthansa's entertainment app, alternatively you can use the program Microsoft Silverlight. The app is available to download via the Lufthansa website. The system includes; films in up to eight languages, TV series, and 100 CDs ranging from classical music to rock, as well audiobooks. In addition, there are radio stations, newspapers, magazines, and flight information. You can also order products from the Lufthansa World Shop through the system. The system will be installed on 20 aircraft, and initial destinations are Tel Aviv, Ashgabat, Baku, and the Canary Islands.
