InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) will open a new Indigo-branded property in the UK capital in 2017. The 207-room Hotel Indigo London – Aldgate, will be located on Leman Street and Aldgate East.
The newly-built hotel will be close to key business districts including Canary Wharf, the City of London and Liverpool Street, as well as underground tube stations including Aldgate East, Aldgate and Tower Hill. Anna Corkill, IHG's development director, UK & Ireland, said: "We're proud to be bringing the first Hotel Indigo hotel to East London... With so many unique neighbourhoods, it is the perfect location for the brand and this latest signing is very much in line with our growth plans for the city." Hotel Indigo currently has 19 properties across Europe with a further 11 in the pipeline. Of those, nine Indigo-branded hotels are located in the UK, with another eight being developed, in addition to the Aldgate property.
