Hyatt has announced the opening of its first hotel in Changchun, the capital city of China’s northeast Jilin province.
Hyatt Regency Changchun is the first “high-end business hotel” to open in the city’s downtown area in almost two decades, according to Hyatt. The hotel is located in the Chaoyang district in the heart of the city, a 50-minute drive from Changchun Longjia International Airport, and is part of a large skyscraper development called Hongwell International Plaza.
Meeting room “The introduction of our strong Hyatt Regency brand in Changchun, Jilin reinforces our commitment to growing our brands purposefully in the places where our guests are traveling. We are delighted that this hotel will bring the Hyatt Regency brand — one of dynamic and stimulating hospitality — to the city and to connect guests with their friends, family and business partners. We believe this hotel will contribute to our goal of becoming the most preferred hotel company,” said Christopher Koehler, vice president and managing director, China Operations, Hyatt. Hyatt Regency Changchun houses 427 rooms and suites, all of which are designed to be both an office and oasis for guests to work or recharge.
Guest room The hotel’s 66 suites feature separate living areas and coffee machines. All suites and Regency Club rooms provide guests with access to the Regency Club lounge on the 42nd floor, which offers complimentary breakfast, all-day coffee and tea service, and evening cocktails and canapés. The Market Café is the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant, while Pin Yue is the hotel’s Chinese restaurant. The Pastry Shop offers sandwiches, pastries, cakes and freshly brewed coffee; and finally, The Bar, which is expected to open in the second quarter of 2016, will feature vintage hunting paraphernalia and serve craft cocktails and a carefully curated selection of wines, beer and spirits, accompanied by live music.
