London Heathrow has announced a new collaboration with Michelin-starred British chef Jason Atherton.

Atherton, who has worked at restaurants such as Pollen Street Social and Berners Tavern, will be bringing some of his award winning dishes to Heathrow VIP, offering customers a taste of his contemporary gastronomy. Heathrow VIP offers a “seamless, private and luxurious” transition through the airport in just over 44 steps. The VIP service begins with a chauffeur driven journey to a dedicated private entrance, where the concierge greet passengers and take them to their own private lounge to wait for their flight. The VIP team take care of check-in and luggage within the suite, as well as private security screening when it is time to depart.

The menu will be updated on a monthly basis, with those travelling this June set to enjoy a selection of mouth-watering canapés, followed by a Berners Tavern summer salad starter and a roasted stone bass, caramelised cauliflower, fennel and cockle velouté main course, inspired by food from the delectable Berners Tavern. For dessert, passengers can tuck into a French meringue, fresh berry compote and strawberry sorbet. Commenting on the exclusive collaboration, Jason said: “With the help of my team and the Heathrow VIP chefs, we’ve created a range of exciting dishes to suit even the most experienced palate; we hope this will enhance the premium experience when travelling through the VIP suite at Heathrow.” John Holland-Kaye, CEO of Heathrow, added: “I can still remember the first time I ate in one of Jason’s restaurants - I went straight out and bought his recipe book so that I could try them out at home. I am thrilled that our VIP passengers can experience the real thing, the very best in British cuisine, when they travel through Heathrow.”
