Hyatt Hotels & Resorts has announced it will launch a Grand Hyatt hotel in Kuwait. Expected to open in 2020, the 261-room Grand Hyatt Kuwait will become the fifth Grand Hyatt hotel in the Gulf region.
The newly-built hotel will be a major part of the extension to the 360 MALL, a luxury shopping destination located seven miles from downtown on 6th Ring road. Grand Hyatt Kuwait will offer standard rooms of 130 square feet (40 square metres), four food and beverage outlets, as well as meeting and events facilities to cater to government, business and social events in the city. “Kuwait is increasingly becoming a major gateway city, so we are delighted to announce this plan to bring the Grand Hyatt brand to this global business and cultural hub. We look forward to welcoming guests to Grand Hyatt Kuwait, where they will be able to experience the innovative design, dramatic architecture and superior service for which the Grand Hyatt brand is known,” said Peter Norman, senior vice president, acquisitions and development for Hyatt – Europe, Africa, and Middle East. The extension to the 360 MALL also includes the new state-of-the-art Sheikh Jaber Al Abdullah Sabah Tennis Complex, which Grand Hyatt guests will be able to enjoy at their doorstep. The tennis complex will have a combined stadium seating for over 7,600 people across two main arenas, eight indoor courts and eight outdoor courts. Hyatt is also set to open its first Grand Hyatt property in Abu Dhabi - planned to open in March 2016 in the Ras Al Akhadar neighbourhood. The 47-story high, ‘twisting’ glass tower will house 368 rooms and 60 apartments, four restaurants, a spa, fitness centre and extensive meeting facilities.
