Do you have a soft spot for sweet and sour? Or a penchant for peking?

If you love Chinese food and exploring exciting gastronomic cultures, we suggest that Singapore Airlines be your choice of carrier the next time you fly from Singapore.

The Changi-based airline is now serving a special menu of Teochew-style dishes on selected flights departing from Singapore for a four month period.

Cold crab, pig trotter Jelly and hei chor - available in First Class

Teochew cuisine originated from the Guangdong province in southeast China. Typical cooking methods of food in the region often involve steaming, steaming fish, seafood and vegetables, whilst meat (usually pork) is usually slow-braised. Generally, Teochew cuisine incorporates more vegetables in its cooking than in many other parts of China. The result is light, elegant dishes that feel fresh and exhibit a natural taste.

"Chinese cuisine is richly diverse and we are delighted to showcase the delicious flavours one can expect from a Teochew meal to our international travellers, while offering those familiar with the cuisine a little taste of home while travelling with us," said Mr Marvin Tan, SIA's senior vice-president of product and services.
