Europe's first Radisson Red to open in Glasgow

Last spring, Carlson Rezidor announced that the first Radisson Red hotels would open in

Shenyang, China and Cape Town, South Africa

. It has now been confirmed that the first Radisson Red hotel in Europe will be the Radisson Red Glasgow in Scotland.

Radisson Red Glasgow will be located in the west of Glasgow, just over two kilometres from the city centre and just 300 metres from the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC). The hotel will have 176 rooms, a restaurant called ‘Redeli’, a bar called ‘Oui’, an art gallery, fitness centre, 78 parking spaces and 100 square metres of meeting space.

, President and CEO of Rezidor, describes Radisson Red as "trendy, close to the customer and with a contemporary design" and claims that the hotel chain will be able to offer flexible and functional rooms, paperless check-in and a 24/7 deli & bar. The goal is to open more than 60 Radisson Red hotels before 2020. The hotel will open in 2017.
