It has now been confirmed that Dusseldorf and Doha will be the premiere destinations for Etihad's new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. The premiere flight will depart on 1st December 2014 from Abu Dhabi, and will continue with daily departures to each respective destination. The flight to Dusseldorf will be a night flight with a departure time of 2:20am, and will return in the morning with a departure time of 10:20am from Dusseldorf. The flight to Doha will depart at 9:35pm, and the return from Doha will be at 10.50pm. From January 2015, the aircraft will be introduced on routes to Mumbai and Washington before returning permanently to Dusseldorf from April 2015. The reason for the choice of Düsseldorf as a destination is that it is a large hub for Etihad’s close partner, Air Berlin. Etihad's Boeing 787-9 has three classes on board - ‘First Suite’ (8 suites in a 1-2-1 configuration), ‘Business Studio’ (28 fully-flat seats in 1-2-1) and ‘Smart Economy’ (199 seats in 3-3-3 ). BusinessClass.co.uk tested all the new cabin products in conjunction with the launch in the United Arab Emirates in May. You can find all the reviews on our Etihad page.
