Bamako, the capital city of Mali, will be served four times a week by Emirates from October 25, 2015. The route will be served by an Airbus A340-300 with three classes on-board, 12 seats in first class, 42 in business and 213 in economy.

Once the route is launched, Bamako will become Emirates 28th destination in Africa, and its 6th in West Africa. Bamako will be linked to the current four-times weekly service to Dakar, Senegal. The route will look like this: Dubai-Bamako-Dakar-Dubai. The route will be served on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The service will depart Dubai at 07.20 and arrive in Bamako at 13.10. It will then depart Bamako at 14.40 and arrive in Dakar at 16.30, before departing Dakar at 18.00 and arriving back in Dubai at 07.30 the following day. Adil Al Ghaith, Emirates senior vice president said, “There is currently no direct service between Dubai and Bamako. Mali has a growing economy and huge tourism potential, and we expect that linking Bamako to our Dakar service will greatly boost both business and leisure travel to and from Mali. Emirates will now connect Bamako with 24 cities in the Far East and Australasia and 16 in the Middle East, through just one convenient stop at our state of the art hub Dubai.” Bamako is one of the fastest growing cities in the world, while Mali itself is one of Africa’s most important gold producers and home to the famous city of Timbuktu.
