On Tuesday, the government ruled that the first Embola screening measures would be implemented in Britain. First up is terminal 1 at London’s Heathrow airport, where arriving passengers had to answer a health questionnaire and had their body temperature measured. During the end of the week, the same measures will be imposed on other terminals at Heathrow, Gatwick and the Eurostar. According to the BBC, the cost of the screenings could well amount to 9 million pounds over the next six months. The first passengers to be checked arrived on a Brussels Airlines flight that landed at Heathrow on Tuesday morning and included transfer passengers from Liberia. In conjunction with passport control, high-risk passengers were flagged and then screened by medical staff.
