Delta Air Lines to launch two new transatlantic routes
Delta Air Lines will strengthen their transatlantic network by launching two new routes between the UK and US. From May 2016, Delta will connect Salt Lake City to London Heathrow and New York-JFK to Edinburgh daily.

, Delta's Senior Vice President – Europe, Middle East and Africa, said: "For the second summer in a row, Delta will be launching new routes that give customers more options when flying between the United States and the U.K. Delta and Virgin Atlantic are committed to offering an extensive network on the trans-Atlantic, and our new flights from London and Edinburgh will offer more connections to destinations throughout the U.S. and beyond." A 210-seat Boeing B747-300ER will be deployed to Salt Lake City, Delta's eighth U.S. destination from Heathrow. Flights will depart Salt Lake City at 20.10 and arrive in London at 13.10 the next day. In the opposite direction, flights will depart Heathrow at 14.15 and arrive in Salt Lake City at 18.07. Daily nonstop service between JFK and Edinburgh will begin on May 26, 2016. Boeing B757-220 departing JFK at 20.15 and arriving in Edinburgh at 08.40 the next day. The return will depart Edinburgh at 10.30 and arrive in New York at 13.01.

Launched on January 1, 2014, the partnership creates an expanded trans-Atlantic network, enhancing competition between the UK and North America.
